Sleeping early is killing the best part of you — a night person video essay

This one is about going back to the place where it all started — an empty corner I used to work in at night — chasing the specific peace that only shows up once the world's asleep. It's less about recreating a memory and more about a "dark fantasy" that's followed me since childhood: the pull toward creating freely once everyone else has logged off. The jacket in this video was a gift from my girlfriend's grandfather, and it ended up deciding the whole palette — deep blues, intense greens, that isolated, slightly enigmatic mood. Shot fast, with a good friend behind the second camera, every cut built around the stillness you only get at night.

The argument for being a night person — for staying up all night on purpose, not by accident — made in five minutes instead of an essay. More of this register lives in Stratus, the full archive, and in After Dark.
